Lagarde calls for ‘policy upgrade’ across the globe

Tells advanced economies to ‘fully incorporate’ spillovers in decision-making

The managing director of the International Monetary Fund called for a "policy upgrade" on September 30, to address the "current challenges" across the globe.

Christine Lagarde, in a speech given in Washington, DC, ahead of the IMF-World Bank annual meetings next week, emphasised the importance of policy change in a host of areas.

"The bottom line is that proactive policy management by everyone – and especially the emerging economies – is now more important than ever."

Specifically, she singled
