Security at Bank of Albania improved in wake of theft
Governor Gent Sejko insists security at the central bank is ‘at the right levels’
The Bank of Albania has taken all necessary measures to prevent a repeat of the "despicable" incident last year that saw roughly 700 million lek ($5.2 million) stolen from its vaults, according to new governor Gent Sejko.
"During these three weeks since I joined the Bank of Albania, I have been informed in detail and verified the measures taken," he said in comments published yesterday. "I assure you that all the security elements at the Bank of Albania are at the right levels."
