Central bankers divided over quota for female staff
Participants in a CentralBanking.com poll believe that central banks should be more proactive in hiring women, but are split over the merits of a formal quota.
The poll was inspired by the European Central Bank (ECB) and Bank of England (BoE) both making public their aim to fill 35% of their managerial positions with women. The UK central bank is close to hitting its target, though both banks remain male-dominated at the highest level.
Of the 226 participants who voted in the poll, 178 (79%)
