People: Palestine Monetary Authority appoints new governor

Plus board appointments in Colombia and UK, and Central Bank of Iceland’s new chief economist

Palestinian Territories: Yahya Shunnar took over as governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) on January 4, after his predecessor, Feras Milhem, completed his four-year term.

Shunnar has held various roles across the public and private sectors in the Middle East and the US. He chaired the board of a charity supporting orphans in the Palestinian Territories, was vice-chairman of Tamkeen Insurance Company and a director at the Palestine Islamic Bank.

Shunnar also served as director-general
