People: Egyptian president extends acting governor’s term

Egypt: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has extended the term of acting central bank governor Hassan Abdalla for another year, according to Egyptian media reports. Sisi also extended the terms of the two deputy governors – Rami Aboulnaga and Tarek El Kholy – for another year.
Egyptian media previously reported a similar extension last August. Sisi named Abdalla acting governor in August 2022, after Tarek Amer stepped down to take a job in the president’s office.
