People: Esma appoints vice-chair

HKMA names deputy chief executive; MAS expands sustainability group

Paris: The European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) has appointed Vojtěch Belling as its new vice-chair. He replaces Erik Thedéen, who left Esma to become governor of Sveriges Riksbank.

Belling is a central banker by background. He is leaving his position as executive director at the Czech National Bank, where he oversaw financial market regulation and international co-operation. He was previously director of the CNB’s EU and international affairs division.
