The Eastern Carribean Central Bank's Annual Report for 2008 and 2009, published on Saturday, looks at the how the financial crisis impacted the currency union.

The report noted that the financial crisis had mainly affected the currency union through the tourism industry, the main source of foreign exchange. Real GDP growth in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union fell to 1.7 % in 2008, from 5.2 % in 2007.
