Sri Lankan central bank to spend $760,000 lobbying in US
Second deal struck under ‘communication programme’
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) will spend $760,000 over the next 12 months lobbying politicians and businesses in the US in an effort to generate favourable public policy and private sector investment.
It is concerned about "well-funded adverse publicity" being generated about the country by its diaspora, as well as "certain sections" of the local and international media.
