Banque de France puts cyber crime defences to the test

A cyber attack on the French financial sector's trading platforms, simulated by Banque de France, has revealed the importance of co-ordination, according to the central bank's director general of operations, Denis Beau.

In an interview with Risk.net, Beau details the results of a test attack conducted by the central bank, the Federation of French Banks and 15 French financial institutions in November 2012 as part of an annual ‘crisis exercise' in the French financial system.
