Cyber attacks on financial firms rise by 37% – survey

Eighty-eight per cent of participants report domain name system attacks over the last year

Domain name system (DNS) attacks on financial firms increased by 37% over the past year, according to a survey published today (October 9).

The Global DNS Threat Report, published by EfficientIP, a network automation and security company, reports 88% of respondents suffered an attack over the past 12 months. Overall, 904 financial firms from North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific took part in the study. The research was conducted from January to April 2019.
