Central Bank of Libya
Established on 26 April 1955 as the National Bank of Libya. Opened on 26 March 1956. On 19 April 1963, its name changed to the Bank of Libya. On 22 December 1970 the Commercial Banking Department was taken over by the newly created National Commercial Bank. In November 1971 the name changed again to the Central Bank of Libya.
