Central banks may be at risk after Greek website attacked
Denial-of-service attack takes Bank of Greece website down for several minutes
The Bank of Greece's website was subjected to a "denial-of-service" attack on May 3, while other central banks may also be at risk.
A representative from the Bank of Greece confirmed the attack took place, but said it was dealt with successfully by the bank's security systems.
A denial-of-service attack entails flooding a website with traffic from multiple sources, eventually overwhelming it.
