Blanchard to step down as IMF chief economist
Olivier Blanchard will leave in September and join Peterson Institute as senior fellow
Olivier Blanchard will leave the IMF on September 30, after helping re-establish the Fund on the global stage during his seven-year spell as chief economist.
Blanchard will join the Peterson Institute for International Economics as the C. Fred Bergsten Senior Fellow when he steps down, while the IMF said it will begin the hunt for a successor "right away".
