Spells out need for ‘growth-friendly’ fiscal measures

Mario Draghi encouraged national governments to "play a greater role" in stimulating economic demand in the eurozone yesterday, at the Jackson Hole symposium in Wyoming.

The ECB president made the case for more "growth-friendly" fiscal policy and stronger co-ordination between eurozone member states, as well as support from the European Union for a "large public investment programme".
