East Asian governors host ‘high-level dialogue' with Eurosystem counterparts

Bangkok played host to the central banking summit meeting

The Bank of Thailand on Saturday hosted a high-level meeting of central bankers from Europe and east Asia – the seventh such meeting, but the first "since the crisis subsided in 2011", according to Vítor Constâncio, vice-president of the European Central Bank (ECB), in a press conference following the meeting.

The meeting brought together the Executives' Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP), an organisation of central banks and monetary authorities from Australia, China, Hong Kong
