People: IMF hires Vitor Gaspar; Poland deputy reappointed
IMF: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has named former Portuguese finance minister and central banker Vitor Gaspar as director of fiscal affairs.
He will replace Carlo Cottarelli, who stepped down in October to take a post with the Italian government. An official statement said Gaspar would take up the reins in "early June".
