People: IMF poaches ADB chief economist; BNP's Gary Smith makes switch to MassMutual
IMF: The International Monetary Fund today named Changyong Rhee, formerly the chief economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as the new director of its Asia and Pacific department. He will succeed the retiring Anoop Singh.
Christine Lagarde, the IMF's managing director, praised Rhee for his "wealth of public- and private-sector experience as well as a deep understanding of financial markets". Prior to his role at the ADB, Rhee held a range of senior public policy positions in Korea
