Central banks take part in ‘Night of Museums’ event

The Bank of England and the Bank of Lithuania have both revealed plans to take part in the European Night of Museums 2012. The International Council of Museums has been organising the event since 2005 in honour of International Museum Day on May 18.

The Bank of England Museum will open its doors from 5.30pm to 9.00pm, with 'special events' taking place throughout the evening.

In Lithuania, visitors were promised 'surprises', including prizes if they visit the central bank's museum on May 19
