Finland’s central bank unveils first volume of official history
The Bank of Finland on Thursday published the first of two books detailing the history of the central bank. The 647-page book covers the period between the creation of the central bank in 1811 up to the Second World War.
Now almost 200 years old, the Bank of Finland has played a part in shaping the nation and its peoples' lives via its activities to date. Banking historian Antti Kuusterä and Juha Tarkka, an adviser to the board at the Bank of Finland, authored the book.
