Regional Feds blame weather for slow recovery

Poor weather was a key factor behind anaemic growth in much of the United States, the Federal Reserve's latest Beige Book reveals.

Of the regional Feds, Richmond reported the largest amount of slack in economic activity with conditions in Atlanta and St. Louis described as "mixed". The remaining nine districts reported continued economic growth, however growth was "only at a moderate pace". Agriculture was the worst affected sector as poor weather conditions damaged crops across the eastern sea
