Nicaragua considers joining Mir network
Finance minister says Russian cards will overcome “aggression” of sanctions
A Nicaraguan minister has said that the country will consider introducing Russia’s Mir payment system.
In an interview with a Moscow-based YouTube channel, published on July 26, finance minister Iván Acosta Montalbán said sanctions were “illegitimate, illegal and unjust”.
Acosta Montalbán said Nicaragua was examining Mir and other payment options “that guarantee neutralising and defeating this aggression”, referring to sanctions.
