CPMI outlines backing for payments data harmonisation
BIS committee aims for greater harmonisation of ISO 20022 to support cross-border payments
The Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) has unveiled plans to support wider adoption of harmonised data standards for cross-border payments.
The committee, part of the Bank for International Settlements, launched the effort today (January 7) as part of an ongoing programme of upgrades to the infrastructure behind cross-border payments.
A key factor in achieving more efficient cross-border payments is the use of the same data standards by all countries, and the ISO 20022
