Ukrainian governor attacks politicians over allegations of criminal complicity

Gontareva says accusations against her are “nonsense”

Ukrainian central bank governor Valeria Gontareva has denied charges made by un-named politicians who had accused her of concealing assets on behalf of criminals. She also attacked claims the central bank was slowing down the progress of a law designed to confiscate assets frozen because they were believed to be funnelled to criminal organisations.

Gontareva issued a detailed statement on October 7, recently translated into English, "to stop this wave of untrue information", which she said was
