Flug sets out long-term challenges facing Israeli economy
Increasing productivity growth and tackling issues related to poverty are two main challenges
Bank of Israel governor Karnit Flug said the need to spur productivity growth and tackle poverty were two of the main challenges facing the country's government in a speech on December 30.
Flug was speaking two days after the central bank held its policy rate at 0.1%. Annual inflation is only expected to return to the 1–3% target at the beginning of 2017.
