RBA’s Stevens wants reforms framed as positive narrative

Glenn Stevens argues the average citizen cares about economic potential

Talk about economic reform needs to be presented "as a positive narrative for economic growth", says Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) governor Glenn Stevens.

Stevens told an audience in Sydney today (July 22) that reforms are important for improving allocative efficiency and, in turn, lifting incomes. They also should support entrepreneurship and innovation, he said, which is "risk-taking by another name and of the kind we want".

He stressed that Australian citizens care about efforts to increase
