Fed’s Beige Book reveals ‘modest’ employment growth

Employment growth was "modest" across the 12 Federal Reserve districts in September, according to the latest Beige Book, reinforcing the uncertainty surrounding labour market data in the United States.

The Fed's contacts in "several" districts reported that companies were "cautious to expand payrolls" as a result of the uncertainty surrounding US fiscal policy.
