Fed’s Beige Book optimistic on labour market

Economic activity in the US continued to expand at a "modest or moderate" pace across most of the 12 Federal Reserve districts, according to the Fed's latest Beige Book published yesterday, though the Boston and Chicago districts reported slow growth since January.
The labour market, which Federal Reserve vice-chair Janet Yellen argued should take centre stage in the Fed's monetary policy in a speech earlier this week, appears to be picking up, with most districts reporting modest improvements
