Dallas Fed picks former Goldman banker to replace Fisher

Robert Kaplan to take over as president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas has appointed Robert Kaplan as its new president, it revealed today (August 18). Kaplan will take over from Richard Fisher, who left the reserve bank in March this year, and is due to start in the role on September 8.

Kaplan joins the Dallas Fed from Harvard Business School, where he is a professor of management and senior associate dean. He co-chairs a philanthropic investment firm, and spent a large portion of his career in increasingly senior positions at
