Ajith Cabraal said he "enjoyed the 140-character battle" with members of the public after the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) governor took part in a live question-and-answer (Q&A) session on Twitter this morning (September 24).

Cabraal answered around 50 questions in the 60 minutes he was online this morning, addressing a wide range of topics including inflation, public debt and his track record as governor.

It is rare for policy-makers to engage directly with the public through social media
