Bank of Japan appoints first female branch manager
The Bank of Japan appointed its first female branch manager, Tokiko Shimizu, on Monday.
She will head the central bank's office in Takamatsu, the capital of Kagawa prefecture on the island of Shikoku.
A spokesperson at the Bank of Japan confirmed Tokiko Shimizu, a former head of foreign exchange operations at the Bank of Japan, would take up the post on 16 July.
