FSB’s G-Sib list increases by one
One joins the list and one major bank drops to a lower bucket
Toronto Dominion Bank has joined the list of global systemically important banks, bringing the total number to 30, the Financial Stability Board revealed today (November 22).
The bank joins the list in the lowest “bucket”, meaning it will face a capital surcharge of 1% of risk-weighted assets and a higher leverage ratio, and must also hold meet minimum standards for total loss-absorbing capacity. Additionally, it will face tougher scrutiny from supervisors and must demonstrate its resolvability
