Pablo Hernández de Cos laid out a map of the “future path” for the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision on October 17.

Four key principles would guide the approach, the recently-appointed Basel Committee chair said at an event in Washington, DC. It was essential to remember the “lessons of the past”, he said, to promote global engagement and transparency, to maintain a “disciplined focus” on global financial stability, and to adopt a forward-looking approach.
