Cyber and geopolitical risks are managers’ top risks

Geopolitical risks seen rising fastest, but cyber is the biggest concern currently

Risks emanating from cyber threats and geopolitical tensions are managers’ leading concerns, the Risk Management Benchmarks 2025 reveal.

Central Banking used a five-point scale to measure respondents’ level of concern for each risk, with one indicating the least concern and five being the most.

Cyber security tops the rankings as respondents’ most concerning risk with an average score of 3.8. It precedes “cyber incidents not involving malicious actors” (3.7) and geopolitical risk, which averages
