Pablo Hernández de Cos, former governor of the Bank of Spain and chair of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, will become the next general manager of the Bank for International Settlements in 2025. The BIS board, made up of 18 central bank governors and presidents, announced the appointment on November 11.
