Oman names new central bank governor
Bank CEO takes the helm at Gulf state’s central bank
Oman appointed Ahmed Al Musalmi as its new central bank governor on December 31, replacing Tahir Al Amri.
Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Oman’s ruler, announced the Central Bank of Oman appointment through a decree published on the state-run Oman News Agency.
Before his appointment, Al Musalmi was chief executive of Sohar International Bank since 2018. He was the CEO of National Bank of Oman before joining Sohar.
