Majority of central banks have emergency cash inventory

But few respondents say they have alternative strategies in place

The majority of central banks responding to the Currency Benchmarks 2024 maintain an emergency reserve of cash for responding to natural disasters or other crises.

Over four-fifths (85.7%) of 35 central banks indicated that they have such strategic reserves. By contrast, the approach is lacking in just five (14.3%) jurisdictions.
