Most central banks’ cloud services are software-focused
Operational environment is largely hybrid and public, while access to server is often domestic
A clear majority of central banks use cloud services to run software, the Fintech Benchmarks 2024 finds.
Cloud services are software-focused across 62.2% of 37 jurisdictions. Some 56.8% say they use the cloud to access platforms, such as development environments. Both methods come ahead of data storage (45.9%) and AI tools (27%). Other (8.1%) forms of cloud services are the least considered.
