People: former New York Fed chief Corrigan dies
New deputy governor appointed in Honduras; Bundesbank names head of research; and more
US: E Gerald Corrigan, who served as president of two Federal Reserve Banks in the 1980s and early 1990s, died on May 17. He was 80 and had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease.
Corrigan joined the Federal Reserve in 1968 as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He worked at the New York Fed until 1979, rising to the position of vice-president for planning and domestic open market operations. From 1979 to 1980, he was an adviser to Paul Volcker during his first months as Federal
