People: Swiss vice-chair to take office in August

Switzerland: Martin Schlegel was appointed vice-chairman of the Swiss National Bank on May 4, a role roughly equivalent to deputy governor. Schlegel, who is currently an alternate member of the governing board, will assume his new office on August 1.

Schlegel will replace Fritz Zurbrügg, who leaves at the end of July. Schlegel will also assume responsibility for the SNB’s Department II, which oversees financial stability, risk management, operational risk and cash services.
