Qatari emir names new central bank governor
Abdulla Bin Saoud Al-Thani leaves QCB leadership after 15 years
The ruler of Qatar appointed Bandar bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani as the new governor of the Qatar Central Bank on November 17.
Prior to his appointment, Bandar was serving as president of the state audit bureau, a post he had held since March 2015.
According to the audit bureau website, Bandar became head of the Qatar Credit Bureau in 2009. In 2014, he became acting director of risk management at the central bank, while apparently continuing at the credit bureau.
