Catherine Mann appointed to Bank of England MPC

Former Citibank and OECD chief economist to take Jan Vlieghe’s seat; Jonathan Haskel reappointed

Catherine Mann has been appointed to the Bank of England’s monetary policy committee, filling the position that will soon be vacated by Jan Vlieghe.

Mann is the former chief economist of Citibank and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). She was previously an economist at the Federal Reserve and has also held positions in academia.

The UK Treasury also announced today (June 22) that Jonathan Haskel would serve a second three-year term on the committee.
