Thailand’s central bank picks G+D for retail CBDC project
BoT will use Filia platform for proof-of-concept
The Bank of Thailand announced it will work with payment services firm Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) to create a prototype retail central bank digital currency (CBDC).
A procurement document for the prototype CBDC, signed by the central bank’s assistant governor Dej Thitiwanich, says the contract is worth 10 million baht ($320,000).
