Friends say Myanmar deputy governor still alive
Bo Bo Nge’s whereabouts are unknown but military junta denied rumours of his death this month
Friends of Bo Bo Nge, the jailed deputy governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, say they have received a photograph confirming he is still alive.
The Berkshire Eagle, a paper published in the US, spoke with a friend of his who had seen the photo. Bo Bo Nge lived in Massachusetts in the early 2000s, after fleeing Myanmar.
Abby Pratt, the friend, told the paper the photo had passed “through secret channels” at “great risk”.
The Myanmar military government arrested Bo Bo Nge on February 1
