Deputy to lead Bank of Israel amid appointment delay
Amir Yaron unlikely to be in governor’s office before the next monetary policy meeting
Nadine Baudot-Trajtenberg became acting governor of the Bank of Israel today (November 14), as the appointment of a new governor was delayed.
In line with the Bank of Israel law, the deputy governor will take over the governor’s powers until a permanent replacement is in office. Governor Karnit Flug has now completed her five-year term and stepped down, and her successor, Amir Yaron, has not yet had his appointment finalised.
The delay means Baudot-Trajtenberg is likely to oversee the next
