FBI arrests man in Oklahoma after undercover operation
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested a man for allegedly seeking to detonate what he believed to be an “explosives-laden van” outside a bank in Oklahoma City. According to the FBI, Jerry Drake Varnell originally had the Federal Reserve in mind as his target.
In the early hours of August 12, Varnell drove the van to an alley outside the building of BancFirst before dialling a number on his mobile phone, which he believed would trigger the explosives.
