National Bank of Denmark
Established in 1818 as Nationalbanken I Kjobenhavn. In 1936 the name was changed to Danmarks Nationalbank by the Nationalbank Act, which is still in force. Its functions include the sole right of note issue. It is a self-governing institution. Profit after allocations to reserves is paid to the government.
