Carstens to succeed Caruana at BIS
Bank of Mexico governor will step down in 2017
Mexico's Agustín Carstens is to succeed Jaime Caruana as general manager of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
In a statement, the BIS said the Bank of Mexico governor would take over for a five-year term in October 2017. He has tendered his resignation to Mexico's president, and will leave the central bank in July.
