Antoinette Sayeh retires from International Monetary Fund later this year
Washington, DC: The International Monetary Fund will see Antoinette Sayeh, director of the African department, depart on August 31 as she retires after eight years at the fund.
Christine Lagarde, the IMF managing director, praised "trademark skills of quiet, effective diplomacy, deep analytical capability" and "unrivalled understanding of the challenges facing her continent". Lagarde noted Sayeh had been hugely influential in cementing the IMF's relations with African members.
