Ukrainian central bank closes down three medium and small commercial banks
Ukraine's central bank has closed down three more commercial banks, while making an announcement apparently intended to calm fears about the country's largest bank.
The three banks were closed either for their failure to disclose their ultimate owners or a shortage of capital, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) announced.
Ukraine's largest bank, PrivatBank, had been recapitalised with 8.2 billion hryvnia ($324.9 million) following central bank supervision in 2014, the NBU said.
