Czech president names two central bank board members

Both new appointees former colleagues of rumoured next governor

The president of the Czech Republic appointed two new members of the country's seven-person central bank board today, the Czech National Bank announced (May 17). President Milos Zeman is expected to announce the next governor of the Czech National Bank on May 25.

Local reports have named current board member Jiří Rusnok as the favourite to replace Singer, who is a former colleague of both new appointees at the commercial banking group ING.
